About me

I have always been drawn to person focused work and to helping others. I am genuinely interested in every person I meet and motivated to support them. Meeting people where they are in their experience and accepting them entirely in that moment is the most fundamental part of my work. It has been my own experience that the most growth occurs when you feel genuine empathy from the person listening - an experience that I want to share with others.

Through my work in person centred roles, education and my own life experiences, I grew a passion for helping others to grow and live well.  I discovered ways to heal and to help others heal, eventually leading to counselling training.  Since qualifying as a counsellor I have been privilidged to work in a variety of settings with people of all ages, from all walks of life. I have developed and manage a much-needed small counselling service in my local area for the family members and friends of individuals affected by a diagnosis of dementia.

I am inspired by nature and the natural world around me. I love being out in nature with my dog, in the woods or by the sea. I have what I view to be  an eclectic range of interests which is really helpful in my work but, it also keeps things more  interesting. My friends and family describe me as warm and supportive with a good sense of humour and I bring that into my work.  Its important to me to be genuine in my work and for the people I work with to feel comfortable and safe
